Trienekens’ has always been fascinated with the small things in life; this is a returning subject in most of her series. She tries to create a certain stillness in the images, which leaves space for visual details that emphasize the beauty of what appears at first sight to be merely ordinary subjects. With a surrealistic approach, she tries to search for the limits of the impossible, showing fragility and at the same time, the strength of nature in her work. When she was younger she dreamed about freezing time. This dream is in a way, achievable with photography.
