SLR Magic HyperPrime 12mm f/1.6

Met een volledig metalen behuizing en twaalf diafragmabladen, is de 12mm f/1.6 het tweede volwaardige objectief van SLR-Magic. Naast de 12mm en de Noktor 50mm f/0.95 bestaat het assortiment volledig uit kunststof 'toy lenses'. Vanaf eind november ligt het objectief in Amerika in de winkel met een prijs die rond de vijfhonderd dollar zal liggen.

Steve Huff had vorige maand al een voorserie-exemplaar in handen en is enthousiast over de bouw- en beeldkwaliteit van de HyperPrime. Ook het Duitse 3D-kraft.com is overwegend positief, al merken ze op dat het objectief op f/1.6 last heeft van chromatische aberraties en vrij vatbaar is voor flares.

Opvallend is het persbericht dat onder andere verscheen op DPReview. Dit lijkt bijna 1 op 1 te zijn overgenomen van Leica. Het is te hopen dat ze bij SLR-Magic beter zijn in het bouwen van objectieven dan in het schrijven van persberichten.
